Gerry Glasco is moving on after seven seasons as the Louisiana RaginƵ Cajuns head softball coach. He has accepted the same position at Texas Tech.
Since taking over at Louisiana, Glasco held an overall record of 300-88 and helped the Cajuns reach the NCAA tournament in every season he coached, keeping up a streak of 25 consecutive tournament appearances. He also never lost a series against a Sun Belt Conference opponent.
He won five SBC tournament championships, the last against Marshall in 2023. Louisiana announced a national search for itƵs fifth head coach in program history Thursday afternoon.

BUBAS CUP: Texas State, a member of the Sun Belt Conference since 2013-14, has earned its third Vic Bubas Cup, an annual all-sports championship trophy, awarded to the top athletics department in the conference based on a points system.

FOUR NEW FACES: Cornelius Jackson isnƵt the only new head coach on the block in the Sun Belt Conference. The upcoming menƵs basketball season will feature four new faces leading their teams along the sidelines after Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Marshall and Old Dominion all filled head coaching vacancies.
CCU and JMU tabbed sitting head coaches, as the Chanticleers hired Justin Gray after three seasons at Western Carolina and the Dukes welcomed Preston Spradlin who spent the previous eight seasons leading Morehead State.
Old Dominion took a similar route as the Thundering Herd and filled its opening with a distinguished alumni who will take over as a first-time head coach at his alma mater. The Monarchs welcomed back Mike Jones (Ƶ95) as the programƵs leader. He most recently served as an assistant coach with Maryland last season.
