Marshall University added 5-foot-10 rising junior to its roster Thursday when Emari Doby transferred from the University of Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars.
Doby averaged 12 points, 5.0 rebounds 2.1 steals and 1.3 assists last season for the NCAA Division II team. She made 128 of 309 shots (41.4%) from the floor, 23 of 82 (28%) from 3-point range and 56 of 70 (80%) from 3-point range.

Doby played for Shawnee Heights High School in Topeka, Kansas, where she averaged 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals per game to earn honorable-mention all-state honors as a senior. Doby suffered a left anterior cruciate ligament injury as a sophomore.
She signed with NCAA Division IƵs Denver, where she played in seven games, averaging 0.3 points and 0.1 rebound per contest.

Doby said she will major in journalism with the goal of being a sportscaster.
