HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓƵ” Alasia Hayes, a rising senior guard for the Marshall womenòòò½ÊÓƵ™s basketball team, has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Her sister and Thundering Herd leading scorer Aislynn Hayes graduated this year.
The younger Hayes came to Marshall after stops at Notre Dame and Mississippi State. She played sparingly last season after appearing in 24 games, starting one, as a sophomore. She averaged 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
Hayes joins the Herdòòò½ÊÓƵ™s Jayda Allie, Adiana Pacheco, CC Mays and Olivia Ziolkowski in the transfer portal. Pacheco, though, remains on the roster. A player doesnòòò½ÊÓƵ™t have to leave despite entering the portal.
Marshallòòò½ÊÓƵ™s roster currently has nine players òòò½ÊÓƵ” Pacheco, Timberlynn Yeast, TreShondra Williams, Blessing King, Leyocha Marigney, Peyton Ilderton, Meredith Maier, Kassie Ingram and Aarionna Redman.
Herd coach Juli Fulks has six roster spots to fill.
