IRONTON 4, PORTSMOUTH 3: Ian Ginger earned the win and Jacob Hughes got a save as the Fighting Tigers beat the defending Ohio Valley Conference champion and homestanding Trojans.
Ginger struck out 11, walked four and allowed three runs on three hits. Hughes fanned three in two hitless innings as Ironton improved to 3-0 and 1-0 in the OVC.
Both teams scored three runs in the first inning. Ginger, who went 3 for 4, singled in Braydon Baker with the winning run in the third.
Bryson Kerns was 2 for 4 for the Tigers. Colin Perry drove home two runs for Portsmouth.

St. Joe scored in the top of the eighth when Carson Willis crossed the plate on a throwing error. Wesley Neal went 2 for 3 for St. Joe. Willis was 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

COAL GROVE 10, SOUTH POINT 2: The Hornets (4-3, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) scored four runs in the second inning to overcome a 1-0 deficit and beat the host Pointers.
South Point went ahead 1-0 on a home run by Saratina Jackson. After loading the bases on walks, Coal Grove tied it on a sacrifice fly by Kendall Taylor to score Mia Haynes. Shay Collins singled in Kasey Vanderhoof before Abbie Deeds hit into a fielderòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s choice to plate Braelie Hitchcock. Collins then crossed the plate on a passed ball.
Rylee Black and Shay Collins each drove in two runs for the Hornets. Rylee Bare was 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles. Izzy Kitts went 3 for 4. Deeds struck out 13 to earn the win.
