The Ironton High School lefthander shook off rust from a shoulder injury during the summer to turn in his best outing of the season Friday in a 15-1 victory over Coal Grove. Philyaw allowed one run, struck out five and walked none to earn the win.
The Fighting Tigers (13-1 overall, 10-0 Ohio Valley Conference) scored six runs in the first inning and eight in the second to take control. Carson Freeman went 2 for 2 with four runs batted in. Bryson Kerns, and Nick Sites each drove in two runs. Jacobs Hughes and Tyler Kleinman each was 2 for 2.

RACELAND 5, CABELL MIDLAND 2: The Rams scored two runs in each of the first two innings of a triumph over the visiting Knights in the Derby Classic.
Eli Lynd, Michael Pennington, Parker Ison and Gunnar Smith drove in one run apiece for Raceland. Brigham Davidson struck out six and allowed seven hits to earn the win.
Landon Nida was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for Cabell Midland. Andrew LaFon went 2 for 4.
BOYD COUNTY 4, HUNTINGTON HIGH 0: Brayden Coleman and Cole Adams combined for a three-hit shutout as the Lions defeated the Highlanders at Marshall Universityòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Jack Cook Field.
Winning pitcher Coleman struck out seven. Adams struck out five to earn a save.
Kaleb Kelley went 2 for 3 with three RBIS.
POINT PLEASANT 4, WAYNE 3: Carrsen Lambert fanned 12 and scored one run to lead the host Big Blacks over the Pioneers.
Carson Finnicum, Zack Jordan and Trycen Putney knocked in one run apiece for Point Pleasant.

Addison Whitlach drove in four runs on three hits and scored twice. Brodie Fackler knocked in four on two hits and crossed the plate twice.
Bradley Hawley combined three hits and three runs. Mason Qualls drove in a pair on two hits and scored two runs.
RUSSELL 2, MASON COUNTY 1: Avery Lother allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts to pace the host Red Devils over the Royals in the David Irey Tournament.
Lother also went 2 for 4 and drove in one run.

Freshman Brooke Jacob pitched a shutout against the Cougars. Kaylee May was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Elyn Simpkins went 2 for 4 and knocked in two. Savanna Henderson drive home a pair of runners. Kyli Kouns went 3 for 3 with a solo home run.
