UPLAND, W.Va. Ƶ Huntington St. JoeƵs baseball team scored all the runs it needed in the first inning of an 8-1 victory over Hannan on Tuesday. David Beane singled in a run for a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Wyatt Pence smashed a three-run home run. Cam Kellar drove in a run in the second inning.
Pence went 2 for 4. Maddox Moosavi stole two bases.
Hayden Taylor swiped a trio of bases for the Wildcats.
Mason Watts was the winning pitcher.
CABELL MIDLAND 9, SOUTH CHARLESTON 0: The host Knights piled up seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to whitewash the Black Eagles in Mountain State Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night.
Braylon Wing had three hits in as many at-bats for Cabell Midland (3-0 going into Wednesday nightƵs game against Hurricane). He drove in two runs and scored another.
Seth Hinkle added two hits. Seven Knights had at least one hit.
Ethan Eaves and Ethan Hatcher each scored two runs. Cam Wallace knocked in a pair.
Ayden Perry got the win in relief. Perry, Cade Johnson and Hunter Workman combined on a three-hit shutout. Perry had seven punchouts, no walks and one hit in 3 2/3 frames.
Braxton Burke was 3 for 3 for South Charleston (2-2). Jackson Webb took the decision for the Black Eagles.
The Black Eagles, after winning their first two games, have dropped each of their last two by nine runs apiece. The Knights have won their last two outings by an average of 10 runs after nipping Raceland 2-1 in their opener.

Waylon Reeder and Braxton Egbert each knocked in two runs for Lewis County (1-4). Kyran Ferguson went 2 for 3. Connor Plank and Cameron Farris each went 2 for 4. Reliever Hunter Bivens picked up the win.
Chandler Kisor and Pierce Wamsley each drove in two runs for Ƶhland (2-2). Drew Kelley smacked three hits and Brody Marushi added two. Kelley took the loss in relief.
POINT PLEASANT 3, SCOTT 2: Anthony Marrero crossed the plate with the winning run on an error as the Big Blacks posted a walk-off win over the Skyhawks.
Point Pleasant trailed 2-1 when Garin Hudnall singled in Austin Keefer. A miscue on the same play allowed Marrero to score.
Louden White totaled two hits for Scott.
Gavin Barnett earned the win with 2 2/3 innings of one-hit shutout relief. Reliever Nate Easterling took the loss.
MORGAN COUNTY 3, FAIRVIEW 2: The Cougars nipped the Eagles in eight innings in the 16th Region All ƵAƵ Classic at Raceland.
Jayden Willis earned the win and Parker Trusty the save. Trusty also was 2 for 4.

ROCK HILL 14, PEEBLES 3: The Redwomen overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Indians in Pedro, Ohio. Isabella Melvin earned the win.
GREEN 13, SOUTH GALLIA 3: Baylee Bridges went 3 for 4 with a home run, triple, double and four runs batted in to pace the Bobcats (1-1) by the Rebels (0-1) in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
Emma Brown was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Addison Brown knocked in two runs. Addison Christian went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles.
GALLIA ACADEMY 13, MARIETTA 0: Colbie Nida starred in the circle and at the plate as the Blue Angels (1-0) beat the host Tigers (2-1).
Nida went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs. She also hurled a two-hitter, striking out nine.
Chloe Bennett went 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Ava Angel was 3 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Maggie Davis went 3 for 4 and plated two runners.
WAHAMA 12, GILMER COUNTY 11: Kate Reynolds scored the winning run on a passed ball as the White Falcons earned a walk-off triumph over the Titans in Hartford, West Virginia.
The lead changed hands five times, with Wahama twice rallying from a three-run deficit to improve to 3-0.
Gilmer County led 11-8 with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning when Kalyn Christian doubled in Fiona VanMatre and Payton Staats. Reynolds then tripled in Christian to tie the game 11-11.
Audrey Reynolds homered and drove in two runs for the White Falcons. Christian smacked three hits. Kate Reynolds, Phoebe Richardson and VanMatre each swatted two hits. Christian and Kate Reynolds each knocked in three runs. Audrey Reynolds plated two.
Kenley Hartshorn whacked five hits for Gilmer County. Erin Stoddard finished with three hits and three RBIs. Paige Montgomery, Kaydee Martin, Layla Smith and Emeri Hickman tallied two hits apiece. Hickman, who hit a home run, and Montgomery each drove in a pair of runs.
Elissa Hoffman was the winning pitcher despite allowing 19 hits and striking out only one. Hartshorn took the loss.
MEIGS 14, EASTERN MEIGS 2: Ava Horn produced four runs on three hits as the Marauders pounded the Eagles in Reedsville, Ohio.
Bella Roush and Aubrey Newell each contributed three hits. Adrian Kinnen drove in two runs. Gracie Banks was the winning pitcher.
Jaynna Wright suffered the loss.
LAWRENCE COUNTY 14, BETSY LAYNE 4: Addalyn Woods used two hits to knock in four runs as the Bulldogs topped the Bobcats in Louisa, Kentucky.
Emmalyn Kitts and Taylor Blevins each knocked in a pair of runs. Abby Maynard, Ella Smith and Jada Patton whacked two hits apiece. Winning pitcher Blevins fanned four and gave up one hit.
