POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. òòò½ÊÓÆµ” Jack Hayden scored three touchdowns to help Fairland (2-0) defeat Point Pleasant 30-13 Friday night in high school football at Ohio Valley Bank Track and Field.
The Big Blacks (0-1) took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter. Fairland tied it 7-7 at 7:01 of the second period when Hayden ran 38 yards for a TD and Aeden Miller kicked the extra point.
Fairland scored the winning points 3:13 before halftime on Ethan Wallòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s 21 -yard touchdown pass to Hayden and Milleròòò½ÊÓÆµ™s extra point. With 13 seconds left until halftime, Wall hit Conner Black from the 10-yard line for a 20-7 lead.
Wall and Hayden connected for another score at 6:45 of the third quarter for a 27-7 lead. With 3:45 to play, Miller booted a 35-yard field goal.
Point Pleasant added a late touchdown to set the score.
IRONTON 51, JACKSON 14: Braden Schreck accounted for 296 yards as the Fighting Tigers (2-0) clobbered the host Ironmen (1-1) at Alumni Stadium
Schreck completed 15 of 24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns, He ran seven times for 50 yards.
Jackson scored on the gameòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s first play, an 81-yard touchdown pass from Bodhi Wolford to Nolan Johnson. The Ironmen led 14-12 with 3:12 remaining in the first half. Shaun Terry, though ran 31 yards for a score 1:33 before halftime to give Ironton an 18-14 lead it never relinquished. Schreck threw 14 yards to Braydon Baker with 8 seconds to play before the half for a 24-14 advantage.
Dòòò½ÊÓÆµ™Edrick Gravesòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s 4-yard TD run at 8:35 of the third quarter dashed any hopes the Ironmen had of a comeback.
COAL GROVE 30, LUCASVILLE VALLEY 16: Kaden Murphy rushed for three touchdowns to pace the host Hornets (1-1) by the Indians (0-2).
Murphy covered 61 and 53 yards in addition to a short plunge for touchdowns. Caden Turner ran for a score and Joey Scarberry returned an interception for a TD.
ASHLAND 42, WEST JESSAMINE 7: Braxton Jennings accounted for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Tomcatsòòò½ÊÓÆµ™ rout of the Colts (0-2) in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Jennings rushed eight times for 55 yards and two TDs. He caught three passes for 51 yards. Cameron Davis caught four passes for 58 yards and ran twice for 42. Davis also intercepted on pass and returned it 39 yards. òòò½ÊÓÆµhland (2-0) used eight different ball carriers to gain 170 yards on 27 attempts.
LaBryant Strader completed 7 of 11 passes for 103 yards and one score.
BELL COUNTY 36, BOYD COUNTY 31: The Bobcats (1-1) rushed for 316 yards in a triumph over the Lions (1-1) in Pineville, Kentucky.
Kaleb Miller ran for 191 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries for Bell County. Blake Burnett completed 7 of 12 passes for 127 yards.
SOUTH GALLIA 42, RIVER VALLEY 7: Layne Wright carried seven times for 146 yards and one touchdown as the Rebels (1-1) routed the Raiders (0-2) in the Clash of the County in Mercerville, Ohio.
Tanner Sanders ran for two touchdowns. Hunter Wright completed 4 of 8 passes for 105 yards and two scores.
RACELAND 21, LETCHER COUNTY CENTRAL 14: Landon Stiltner rushed 23 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns to lift the Rams (1-1) over the Cougars (1-1) in Whitesburg, Kentucky.
Ayden Cooper added one scoring run.
PORTSMOUTH 41, PORTSMOUTH WEST 7: Chase Heiland gained 111 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns as the homestanding Trojans routed the Senators.
J.T. Williams completed 11 of 19 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a TD. Cam Williams caught one touchdown pass.
For West, Mason Parker ran for 105 yards and one score in 15 attempts.
FAIRFIELD UNION 48, MEIGS 6: Owen Ruff rushed for 164 yards and five touchdowns as the Falcons walloped the Marauders in Rushville, Ohio.
Fairfield Union (2-0) scored first, recovering a blocked punt in the end zone. Ruff then ran for a pair of scores for a 20-0 lead. Ruff returned the second half kickoff 80 yards for a TD as the Falcons pulled away.
Gunner Cleland completed 12 of 24 passes for 108 yards in the first half before suffering an arm injury and missing the rest of the game.
LAWRENCE COUNTY 49, SHELBy VALLEY 34: Three backs gained more than 100 yards as the Bulldogs (2-0) ran for 417 to beat the Wildcats in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Luke Fetherholf picked up 153 yards on 10 attempts, scoring two touchdowns. Cavin William carried 18 times for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Kaden Johnson scored three times, running for 114 yards on 13 totes.
Johnson also forced and recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass.
Fetherholf threw for 80 yards and intercepted one pass.

HUNTINGTON HIGH 4, ASHLAND 1: Parker Riley tallied three goals to lead the Highlanders (4-0) past the Tomcats (1-4) in a game delayed 70 minutes by weather at Scotland Yard.
Riley scored at 12:50 and 13:06 to five Huntington High a 2-0 lead. òòò½ÊÓÆµhland pulled within 2-1 before Riley struck again for a 3-1 lead at halftime.
Bennett Warner added a goal in the second half to set the score.
ST, PATRICK 4, GREENUP COUNTY 1: Rudy Igancio and Juan Antonio Breseno each scored two goals as the Saints (1-4) toppled the Musketeers (0-3) in Maysville, Kentucky.
Breseno also handed out a pair of assists. Levi Rapato issued one assist. Aiden Samudio made one save.
