The State Liners (11-17) are playing in Johnson City, Tennessee, while their ballpark is being renovated.
Bristol led 3-2 after two innings before the Coal Cats (9-16) tied it in the third, then scored four runs in the fourth and eight in the fifth to pull away.
Bishop Quarles (Bryant & Stratton) was 3 for 5 with a double and three runs batted in. Chandler Murray (Kansas State) tripled and drove in three runs. Ryan Maggy (West Virginia) homered and knocked in two runs. Luke Kosko (Cincinnati) went 2 for 3 and Tyler Smolinski (Kansas State) was 2 for 4.
Reliever Brynden Rodriguez (Lenoir-Rhyne) was the winning pitcher.
For Bristol, Chris Patterson (Missouri) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Patrick Gillen (North Carolina-òòò½ÊÓÆµheville) was 2 for 4 and drove home two. Collin Dobson (Central Missouri) went 2 for 4. Alex Sotiropoulos (Columbia) took the loss.
