According to a recent right-wing letter, President Biden is using a Ƶpower hammerƵ to destroy America, in tune with ƵIf I Had A Hammer,Ƶ sung by The Mamas and The Papas. It also stated that he has prohibited the U.S. from drilling any oil, on shore or off shore! While that analogy may be good to score a few political points in right-wing circles and it may stoke the political fires of loyal Fox News watchers, it is absolutely false!
First of all, The Mamas and The Papas didnƵt sing that song. It was Peter, Paul and Mary. Written by Pete Seeger and Lou Hays in 1949, it was about progressive concerns of the day and most specifically the labor movement. It was a rallying cry for blue collar workers concerning justice and equality Ƶ the complete opposite of what the article stated.
In regard to Biden preventing drilling in the U.S., it should be noted that crude oil production in America averaged 12.9 million barrels per day in 2023, breaking the previous U.S. and global record of 12.3 million. We produce more crude oil than any nation in the world, at any time, according to International Energy Statistics.
Sadly, while Biden tries his best to unite this divided country, Donald Trump does his best to take it down completely! With help from a corrupt Congress and the metamorphosis of the Republican Party into nothing but a Trump cult, the fractures multiply.
So long as Americans accept and repeat lies as being the truth and Ƶsupposed ChristiansƵ close their eyes to TrumpƵs criminal and godless behavior, this country will surely fall into the fascist, dictatorial abyss that Trump desperately wants! At that point, when he has no further monetary or political need for those ignorant enough to follow him, they will be cast aside like everyone else he can no longer grift!
