CHARLESTON Ƶ Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced Tuesday that state employees in West Virginia will be excused from work Thursday, July 3, for an extended weekend leading into the Fourth of July.
ƵƵ we approach AmericaƵs birthday, I am encouraging West Virginia state employees to spend some additional time with family and friends celebrating what makes our country great,Ƶ Morrisey said in a news release. ƵGet outside, visit our beautiful state parks, and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.Ƶ
MorriseyƵs announcement applies to public employees of the state of West Virginia and does not affect private businesses, local governments or other individuals not employed by the state. It also excludes state employees who may be called on to safeguard residentsƵ health, safety and welfare.
