HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” A woman charged with child neglect resulting in death was arraigned in Cabell County Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Jessica Rose Lindsey, 35, was charged in connection with the death of 3-year-old òòò½ÊÓÆµpen Lamyia-Renae Baylous, her boyfriendòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s granddaughter, in October 2023 while òòò½ÊÓÆµpen was under her watch, according to indictment records provided by the Cabell County Circuit Clerkòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office.
According to a criminal complaint, Courtney Toney-Baylous brought òòò½ÊÓÆµpen, her daughter, to Lindseyòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s and her boyfriendòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s house on Oct. 16, 2023. While Toney-Baylous rested, Lindsey had agreed to care for the child, according to the complaint.
While Toney-Baylous was asleep, the child became unresponsive, according to the complaint, and was later pronounced dead at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
According to the complaint, a post-mortem exam revealed two days later that the childòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s cause of death was fentanyl/norfentanyl/4-ANPP intoxication.
On Tuesday, Lindsey entered a plea of not guilty. According to court reports provided by the clerkòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office, she was previously referred to day report, and she will appear in court again at 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
