HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓƵ” A man charged in two counties with obtaining money by false pretenses was sentenced in Cabell County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

In December 2023, he pleaded guilty and was granted deferred adjudication and placed on probation for 24 months.
Meadows was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $31,720 with a minimum monthly payment of $854 to the victim. Had Meadows successfully completed the deferral period, he would have been permitted to withdraw his guilty plea to the felony charge and enter a misdemeanor plea to obtaining money by false pretenses.
In April 2024, Meadows was charged again with obtaining money by false pretenses in Wayne County after a woman said he failed to complete work he was contracted for.
According to a criminal complaint from the Wayne County Magistrate Clerkòòò½ÊÓƵ™s Office, Meadows signed a contract April 17, 2024, and was paid $31,500 in total to tear down and rebuild a porch.
According to the complaint, Meadows only worked on-site for around 15 to 20 hours, did not complete any work or provide materials and left his tools at the residence.
Meadowsòòò½ÊÓƵ™ deferred adjudication in Cabell County was revoked in February and the court accepted his guilty plea to the felony offense of obtaining money by false pretenses.
On Tuesday, Meadows was sentenced by Cabell County Circuit Judge Gregory Howard to one to 10 years on home confinement and was given 10 days to remove any advertisement on social media, according to Howardòòò½ÊÓƵ™s office.
He was also ordered to pay $18,000 in restitution, or a minimum of $1,000 a month for 18 months. If Meadows misses a payment, he could be sentenced to prison.
According to the Wayne County Circuit Clerkòòò½ÊÓƵ™s Office, Meadows has not been indicted on his charges from last year and is expected to appear in court July 15.
