ASHLAND òòò½ÊÓƵ” Work starts next week on a $1 million Kentucky Transportation Cabinet paving project along U.S. 60 (13th Street) at òòò½ÊÓƵhland.
The project includes the removal and replacement of old asphalt. All work will take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. each night.
Beginning Monday, July 15, motorists should expect road work, lane closures and delays as contractors pave nearly two miles of U.S. 60-13th Street from Winslow Road (KY 1134) to Pollard-Oakview roads downtown.
When traveling in the work zone, motorists should be prepared to use different lanes for turning or for thru traffic, and can expect rough, milled pavement surfaces. Once paving is complete, traffic changes could continue as crews complete final pavement markings and other work.
The highway improvement project is being done by Mountain Enterprises Inc., under a $996,619.65 low-bid Transportation Cabinet contract. Work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
