BARBOURSVILLE Ƶ The first Step Up For Sleep event for Wake Up Narcolepsy in West Virginia took place Saturday morning in Barboursville.
Wake Up Narcolepsy provides national narcolepsy advocacy and funds research into its causes, prevention, treatments and a cure while increasing education and understanding among the public, according to its website.
The family-friendly 5K run and 2-mile walk event brought together participants and people with narcolepsy and other sleep disorders and their families. The event also featured lunch, and a presentation by sleep specialist Dr. Debra Stultz.
