HUNTINGTON Ƶ Huntington ChildrenƵs Museum partnered with Prime Engineering on Saturday to take local children on a global engineering adventure.
A free STEAM-focused exploration of Eight Engineering Wonders of the World was set up at Pullman Square, offering attendees an opportunity to ƵvisitƵ Egypt, Spain, China and more while investigating transportation techniques, paper kite creations, aqueducts and Great Pyramids.
Huntington ChildrenƵs Museum, a nonprofit organization, aspires to embrace Ƶthe natural curiosity of all children by creating child-centered spaces that promote exploration and a love for learning through play.Ƶ
Though currently in the fundraising and construction stage of its physical museum space at 1700 Washington Ave., Huntington ChildrenƵs Museum has conducted free pop-up events for more than 3,000 children around the Tri-State area since its incorporation in 2021, according to its board members.
For its next activity, the ChildrenƵs Museum will team up with Marshall UniversityƵs Office of Student Affairs to host SandFest for a second year.
On Sunday, Sept. 10 from 3-7 p.m., families can gather at the Memorial Fountain on campus to watch Marshall organizations, local businesses and community members compete in a tabletop sand sculpture competition for the ƵGolden Shovel.Ƶ
The event will also feature a sand pit, sandcastle making stations, STEAM activities and more for all ages.
