CHESAPEAKE, Ohio òòò½ÊÓÆµ” The Lawrence County Sheriffòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Office is investigating a domestic violence situation where two people were stabbed and one was struck by a vehicle. This incident occurred at a residence on County Road 1 in Chesapeake, Ohio, at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the sheriffòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office, the suspect, 26-year-old Dimitri Callens, of Chesapeake, went to the residence to confront an ex-girlfriend whom he had seen earlier in the evening at a restaurant in Huntington with another person.
Harold E. Maynard, 53, of South Point, Ohio, was stabbed in the neck and hand with a machete, the sheriffòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office said. Callens is also accused of stabbing Harold M. A. Maynard, 20, also of South Point, in the hand.
Callens is also accused of striking 48-year-old Willa Maynard, of South Point, with his vehicle while fleeing the scene, the sheriffòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office said.
All three victims were transported to Huntington hospitals by Lawrence County EMS. None of their injuries appear to be life-threatening, the office said.
Deputies located Callens at his residence and he was arrested without incident on three counts of felonious assault. The incident remains under investigation and additional charges could be added, according to the sheriffòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s office.
