BARBOURSVILLE Ƶ An inmate who escaped custody of the Floyd County Jail in Kentucky was taken into custody in Barboursville on Monday.

Thomas Price, 37, was arrested several months ago after an Ƶextensive manhunt,Ƶ according to a social media post from the Prestonburg Police Department in Kentucky. He was receiving medical treatment at Highlands Regional ARH in Kentucky when he escaped sometime between late Sunday night to early Monday morning, the police department wrote.
Price was first seen in Barboursville around 11 a.m. at the Best Western hotel off Interstate 64, and then again around 6:45 p.m., at the Big Lots Shopping Plaza, according to an email from Capt. R. A. Maddy, West Virginia State Police deputy chief of staff. Officers from the Huntington detachment of the State Police took Price into custody later Monday. He is being held at the Western Regional Jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
Price was serving jail time after being convicted on multiple charges in 2017, according to information from the Kentucky Department of Corrections, including criminal possession of a forged instrument, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, escape and theft.

Open container, 9:24 a.m. Monday, 1100 block of 4th Avenue.
Breaking and entering auto, 6 p.m. Sunday, 1700 block of 9th Avenue.
Domestic battery, 5 a.m. Monday, 3900 block of Riverside Drive.
Breaking and entering, 9 p.m. Sunday, 4000 block of Ohio River Road.
Domestic battery, 3 a.m. Monday, 2100 block of Madison Avenue.
Obstructing officer, fleeing from officer no vehicle, fleeing in vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, 3:29 a.m. Monday, 700 block of 3rd Avenue.
