CHARLESTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” Downtown Charleston will host multiple events over the next several days. Street closures continue, with preparations for the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta and The Jungle 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament and community celebration.

Friday and Saturday: Regatta setup
Beginning Friday, road closures expand for setup of the with full-day closures of Kanawha Boulevard from Clendenin Street to Hale Street, as well as local-traffic-only restrictions on surrounding streets. These closures and parking restrictions will remain in place through Saturday.
Businesses located on Kanawha Boulevard, from Pennsylvania Avenue to Clendenin Street, will be accessible via Kanawha Boulevard or Virginia Street.
Sunday: Basketball tournament, continued Regatta setup
On Sunday, Charleston welcomes and Community Engagement Event on the West Side from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. This will close Second Avenue from Florida Street to Bream Street for the day.
Meanwhile, Regatta preparations continue with a scheduled carnival move-in and additional road closures throughout the downtown core. Kanawha Boulevard will be closed from Clendenin Street to Hale Street, and several intersecting streets will remain limited to local traffic only.
Plan ahead
Residents and visitors should expect detours and adhere to posted no-parking signs to avoid ticketing or towing. For those attending events, plan in advance by arriving early, using designated parking lots and preparing for increased foot and vehicle traffic downtown.
