IRONTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” Several people received prison sentences Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court for violating terms of their probation.
John Wright, 56, no address listed, was sentenced by Judge Andy Ballard to four-and-a-half years in prison earlier this week after admitting to violating terms of his community control sanctions (probation).
In a separate case, Ricky A. Waddle Jr., 30, no address listed, was sentenced to three years in prison for violating terms of his probation.
In other cases:
Kyle Koening, 35, no address listed, was sentenced by Judge Christen Finley to two years in prison on a probation violation. He was given credit for 149 days already spent behind bars towards the sentence.
John Murrell, 60, no address listed, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for violating terms of his probation. He was given credit for 137 days already spent behind bars towards the sentence.
Jason Yates, 47, of Brubaker Street, South Point, rejected a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years in a felony drug trafficking case. The case is set for trial June 3.
Jonathan D. Penix, 37, of òòò½ÊÓÆµh Street, Wheelersburg, Ohio, rejected a prison sentence of 10 to 14 years in prison for several charges including tampering with evidence and felony vandalism for cutting off an ankle monitor, trafficking and possession of meth, trafficking and possession of a fentanyl-related compound and trafficking and possession of cocaine. The case is set for trial June 9.
Kenneth R. Blanton, 47, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and Daniel A. Doss, 41, no address listed, both admitted to violating terms of their probation and were sentenced to six months at the STAR Community Justice Center in Scioto County.
Jesse D. Mezo, 39, no address listed, admitted to violating terms of his probation. Final sentencing was set for May 21.
Amber N. Means, 32, of Logan, West Virginia, admitted violating terms of her probation and was ordered to complete a four- to six-month program at STAR.
Robbie J. Leibee, 59, of County Road 181, Ironton, admitted to terms of intervention in lieu of conviction program and was ordered to be drug and alcohol free for 12 to 18 months and was ordered to continue treatment.
Alena A. Pennington, 53, of Township Road 1027, South Point, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, and was placed on intervention in lieu of conviction requiring her to be drug and alcohol and drug free for 12 to 18 months and to continue drug treatment.
John Paul Blair, 46, of Ohio 141, Ironton, was released on a $25,000 recognizance (signature) bond on a charge of failure to appear. He was ordered to continue treatment at Bethesda Services treatment center. Blair did admit Tuesday to taking drugs at the Lawrence County Jail.
Brittany McKenzie, 34, of Private Drive 215, South Point, has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity to a charge of felony vandalism. She was ordered to be sent for a competency evaluation at Court Clinic in Cincinnati.
