IRONTON òòò½ÊÓƵ” Several people received jail, prison or other sentences Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
òòò½ÊÓƵ part of a negotiated plea, Evan Henry, 20, of the 2800 block of South 4th Street, Ironton, was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property. The sentence is to run concurrently with a seven-year sentence Henry is serving out of Delaware County.
In an unrelated case, Ethan Taylor, 20, of the 600 block of North 5th Street, Ironton, admitted to violating terms of his community control sanctions (probation) and was sentenced to a year in the Lawrence County Jail. He had been charged with cutting off an ankle monitor and drug possession.
In other cases:
Ella Murphy, 41, of Old Buckley Road, òòò½ÊÓƵhland, admitted violating her probation and was ordered to complete a four- to six-month program at the STAR Community Justice Center in Scioto County.
James Hayes, 42, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, admitted violating terms of his probation. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 28.
Clayton H. Mahan, 57, of Lancaster, Ohio, pleaded guilty to having weapons while under disability and receiving stolen property. òòò½ÊÓƵ a convicted felon, Mahan was not supposed to have the rifle and shotgun that were in his possession when approached by members of the Ohio Division of Natural Resources. He was placed on three years probation and was ordered to get anger management treatment.
Austen C. Bowen, 34, of the 600 block of 4th Street, Huntington, pleaded guilty in a drug case and was placed on intervention in lieu of conviction. He is required to be drug- and alcohol-free for a year to 18 months.
Dimitri Callen, 27, of Township Road 293, Chesapeake, pleaded no contest to three counts of aggravated assault. He was placed on probation for five years. A machete and another weapon confiscated with his arrest were confiscated. He initially was charged with three counts of felonious assault. The charges were amended to the more serious charges of aggravated assault.
