IRONTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” A Chesapeake area woman was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to two years in prison in a drug case.
Melissa D. Clutters, 39, of Private Drive 1285, Chesapeake, was sentenced in the case by Judge Andy Ballard.
In an unrelated case, Jonathan Penix, 37, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, rejected a plea offer on charges including tampering with evidence, vandalism, trafficking in drugs and failure to appear. If convicted, he could face 17 to 21-and-a-half years in prison.
The case is set for trial Monday.
In other cases:
Jason Scott Tackett, 44, of Township Road 616, South Point, admitted to several charges including having weapons while under disability (being a felon in possession of a firearm). He was placed on probation for 36 months and ordered to complete a four- to six-month program at the STAR Community Justice Center in Scioto County. He also lost driving privileges for three years, was fined $1,350 and was ordered to forfeit a handgun to the probation department. Tackett also was ordered to do 200 hours of community service.
Gary L. Rouse, 30, of Detroit, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and possession and trafficking in cocaine, He was released on a $35,000 signature bond while the case is pending.
David Justice, 58, of Township Road 1110, Ironton, denied violating terms of his community control sanctions (probation). The case was set for trial later this month.
Delmar M. Jenkins, 36, of the 1700 block of Campbell Drive, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, He was released on a $25,000 signature bond and wear an ankle monitor while the case is pending.
Jesse L. Friend, 47, who is homeless, pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of meth. He was released on a $25,000 signature bond while the case is pending.
