HUNTINGTON Ƶ Frosty the Snowman, the GrinchƵs sled and ƵBaby ItƵs Cold OutsideƵ themes lights of red, white, green and blue lit up the downtown area for HuntingtonƵs Christmas Parade of Lights on Tuesday.
About 500 participants, including local businesses, schools and organizations, showed off their best decked-out trucks, cars, boats and trolleys for the annual event. Approximately 67 floats wrapped in Christmas lights glided through the city to celebrate the holiday season.
The Huntington Police Department motorcycle unit and honor guard led the parade. Grand marshals were Huntington Mayor Steve Williams and Mayor-elect Patrick Farrell, who was represented by his wife, Kate, while he is away for training. The parade included performances by Wayne, Tolsia and Spring Valley high schools from Wayne County; Chesapeake High School marching bands; and BridgetƵs Dance Academy.
