HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” An extension of Ritter Boulevard will be designated as a secondary emergency and evacuation route that will open for residents of Enslow Park during emergency flood situations.
The route is an existing road that has not be accessible to residents in the past. Huntington Mayor Patrick Farrell on Monday announced its new designation as a secondary emergency and evacuation route to be opened during flooding.
The route will extend from Ritter Boulevard and give access for residents and emergency personnel of Enslow Park out to McCoy Road.
The Ritter Boulevard emergency access route will provide a short-term solution for residents. Earlier this year, the city moved into the first phase of a project to engineer a permanent emergency and evacuation route out of Enslow Park.
