HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” A former Barboursville Middle physical education teacher who was placed on administrative leave and investigated for abuse in 2022 officially resigned during a Cabell County Board of Education meeting Tuesday.

Daniel Miles, who originally faced a felony charge of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust to a child, entered a guilty plea in April to the misdemeanor of child abuse causing risk of injury. A six-month sentence in the Western Regional Jail was suspended, and Miles was sentenced by Cabell County Circuit Court Judge Gregory Howard to a year of supervised probation and a $100 fine, according to a plea and sentencing order provided by the Cabell County Circuit Clerkòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Office.
