CHARLESTON òòò½ÊÓƵ” A Wayne County volunteer fire department is back open and operational after having to close last week due to workersòòò½ÊÓƵ™ compensation issues.
Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department is servicing calls in its area once again after a recent closure, the state Fire Marshalòòò½ÊÓƵ™s Office said in a news release Friday.
The departmentòòò½ÊÓƵ™s closure was due to its failure to submit required paperwork to its insurance carriers, according to the fire marshal.
Volunteer fire departments in West Virginia are required to maintain a valid workersòòò½ÊÓƵ™ compensation policy for all members of the department.
All emergency calls normally covered by Dunlow were dispatched and handled by neighboring fire departments, and service coverage was not affected.
