HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” On Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to noon, many of the Tri-Stateòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s local coffee, bakery and ice cream shops will gather in one place òòò½ÊÓÆµ” Marshall Universityòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation on Huntingtonòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s 4th Avenue òòò½ÊÓÆµ” in support of Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Huntingtonòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s free and charitable clinic.
Austinòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Homemade Ice Cream, Grindstone Coffeeology, Hill Tree Roastery, 606 Coffee Co., and Twelvepole Trading Post will sell bagged and brewed coffee, herbal teas, locally made and harvested syrups, baked goods, scooped ice cream, and more on the first floor of the new business school building.
The event is open to the public with no entry fee required.
Attendees will learn about Ebenezeròòò½ÊÓÆµ™s work providing primary care, dental, pharmacy services and more to the uninsured, underinsured and underserved. Other health-related vendors will have information and resources, as well.
With March being colorectal cancer awareness month, the event will also feature the Strollinòòò½ÊÓÆµ™ Colon. Attendees can walk through this 12-foot inflatable educational exhibit to see how treatable polyps progress to colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer is West Virginiaòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s second-leading cause of cancer deaths. Given the close relationship many experience between drinking coffee and using the bathroom, Coffee for a Cause aims to promote these lifesaving screenings.
