HUNTINGTON òòò½ÊÓÆµ” This summer, the Cabell County Board of Education will provide daily free meals at eight locations throughout Huntington and one in Milton and five-day meal boxes in four rural locations for Cabell County students 18 and younger.
Director of Food Service Travis Austin said in an email that meal locations will be closed and not serve meals on June 20 and July 4.
The locations where daily free meals (Monday through Friday) through The Summer Lunch Program will be available are:
A.D. Lewis Community Center, 1450 AD Lewis Ave, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Adamòòò½ÊÓÆµ™s Landing, 820 Virginia Ave., 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Cabell County Fairgrounds, 1 Pumpkin Way, 11 a.m. to noon
Cabell County Public Library (main), 455 9th St., noon to 1 p.m.
Gallaher Village Public Library, 368 Norway Ave., noon to 1 p.m.
Our Lady of Fatima, 535 Norway Ave., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Phil Cline Family YMCA, 917 9th St., 11 a.m. to noon
West Huntington Public Library, 901 14th St. W. 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
St. Joseph Grade School, 1326 6th Ave., breakfast 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to noon
The locations where five-day meal boxes will be available once a week on Wednesdays starting June 12 are:
Salt Rock Public Library, 5575 Madison Creek Rd., 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Cox Landing Public Library, 910 Cox Landing Road, 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Antioch Baptist Church, 523 Little Fudges Creek Road, 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Hite Saunders Elementary School, 3708 Green Valley Road, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Austin said in the email parents are required to sign up weekly if they intend to pick up a five-day meal box. Sign-up for meal boxes will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 3 at .
Austin said since participation at daily meal sites was low for rural areas in previous years, the multiple day meal box became available in those areas and were approved by the USDA, although Huntington sites did not qualify for those boxes.
Breakfast and lunch will also be served at all summer school and camp locations throughout the county for enrollees.
