DAZZLE: We now know who will be headlining the annual ƵDawg DazzleƵ at HuntingtonƵs Harris Riverfront Park on Thursday, July 3. It all starts at 6pm. The headliner will be up-and-coming country music star Matt Stell. Barboursville-based Madhouse will open for Stell. Further acts will be announced later. The Huntington Symphony Orchestra will also be part of Dawg Dazzle, performing a concert at the Harris Riverfront Park Amphitheater called ƵRed, White and Bluegrass.Ƶ The evening will wrap up at dark with the Tri-StateƵs largest fireworks display. Plenty of food and drink vendors will be on hand for the event.
LIVE MUSIC: This week is the 2025 debut of 9th Street Live. The first 9th Street Live presentation in Downtown Huntington is tomorrow starting at 7 p.m. and features Brad Goodall. Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. and the eventƵs partners this year include Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe, Sip Downtown Brasserie and Summit Beer Station. Next week, 9th Street Live hosts the HooliganƵs Homecoming Pre-Party featuring SundayƵs Child and Neon Black.
SHEƵS BACK: A new generation of The Voice hopefuls will have their chance to be a part of Team Reba next season: SheƵs headed back to the reality show. Billboard reports that McEntire is rejoining the cast of the show Season 28 after taking a one-season break. The new season will mark the fourth time overall that sheƵs been a coach on The Voice. McEntireƵs got some old friends joining her in the coachesƵ chairs: Snoop Dogg, who coached alongside McEntire in Season 26, is set to return for a new batch of episodes. Michael Bublé is another star who coached that season. Season 28 of The Voice is set to premiere this fall. ItƵll be a busy season for McEntire, whose sitcom HappyƵs Place Ƶ also on NBC Ƶ got picked up for another season, and is returning around the same time.
COUNTRY STAR: Johnny Rodriguez, who built a superstar-level career as one of country musicƵs first Hispanic stars in the 1970s, has died. According to his family, the singer died on May 9, Ƶsurrounded by family.Ƶ He was 73. Born in Sabinal, Texas, in 1951, Rodriguez reportedly landed his big break after he was overheard singing during a brief jail stint as a teenager, which led to music promoter ƵHappyƵ Shahan hiring him, according to Saving Country Music. Rodriguez would go on to score a long string of country hits that included his first Top 10 hit, 1973Ƶs ƵPass Me By (If YouƵre Only Passing Through).Ƶ Rodriguez followed that up with three consecutive No. 1 hits with ƵYou Always Come Back (To Hurting Me),Ƶ ƵRidinƵ My Thumb to Mexico,Ƶ and ƵThatƵs the Way Love Goes.Ƶ
